Doh! Steering Wheel No-No

This probably wouldn’t pass vehicle inspection, even as farm equipment, here in Texas. On the other hand, the setting appears kind of boatish — or is that shippish? — so maybe it doesn’t matter. But seriously this is unacceptable, and bordering on a complete travesty. Combination wrenches and electrical tape!? Are you kidding? The situation clearly calls out for a vise grip or two, duct tape, zip ties, and some paracord, probably in international orange. If you have to use electrical tape, use it for its intended purpose, like a seat belt or something.

This bed is about as different as it gets from the one we posted about yesterday. This piece from reader Notzombiefood is all about fun for kids. Quite honestly it represents all things that are great about kid beds — it’s big, sturdy, and can be made into a fort if necessary.

Notzombiefood says that he added a few shelves and desk space for his youngsters’ gear. That’s one heck of a tall order for one piece of furniture; however from what we can see from the photo he seems to have achieved his goal on all levels. Also, that’s a badass ladder.

Open Those *#$% Pill Bottles

Jokari’s magnifying Medi-Grip remover opens many different sizes of medicine and vitamin bottles and helps you read what’s on the label. Alternatively, you could ask your pharmacist for a non-child proof cap, but who remembers to do that?

The remover is constructed from a soft plastic that grips the caps and conforms to your hand to give you more leverage opening the container. Embedded in the top of the remover is a 4X magnifying lens.

A single remover will run you $4 to $5 before shipping. Hmm… I wonder if it works on twist-off beer bottles.

Dealmonger: Fein Step Adaptor

No, this is not a fold-out light saber, stacking rings for kids, or some erotic device. It’s the Fein 921072K13 Step Adaptor, on sale at Coastal Tool for $3.75.

The Step Adaptor is for connecting the Fein dust extraction/vacuums such as the Turbo III to a variety of hoses and tools. You simply cut it to the step that fits your tool. Looking around it also seems to be the least expensive of any available vacuum step adapters, so we wonder if it can be used with other makes of shop vac. It’s also available on Amazon for $6.15.
