SessionONEpointFIVE

Hey folks,

I hadn't seen a new topic created to carry on general discussion after the first session, though doubtless some people are plotting in secret. wink I thought I'd create a catch-all for general discussion, called SessionONEpointFIVE. If this works out, I'll continue the naming convention after each game.

Okay, since no one else has posted to this topic, in a fit of paranoia I will.

General Valens

For those sticking around the Castle: right after the confrontation in the throne room, Durus disappears for at least a few hours (not sure exactly how long, yet - Ben is going to get back to me).

-- ChrisLightfoot - 11 Jun 2007

Durus is gone from the castle environs for several hours. When he returns, his armor is freshly polished, and he wears a Unicorn pendant prominently around his neck. Acknowledging the castle guards, he strides resolutely toward his father's chambers, his eyes flashing with a fierce determination.

-- ChrisLightfoot - 15 Jun 2007

Not long after, again striding through the castle, the General is seen descending to the dungeons.

Aife

Aife, of course, leaves with the body of her mother. She will be unavailable for a little while and will refuse any trump contact. If you are curious, my story Vigil takes place after I depart. I go to a fast time shadow, however, so I'll probably be back my the beginning of next session. That is unless 1.5 covers more time that I expect.

Gizette and Solomon

Gizette stands in Solomon's shadow, looking around herself. Her face is still marked with tears, her eyes are red and her shoulders are shaking with repressed emotion. The girl's hands and feet move distractedly - there are places she needs to go, people she needs to see. And yet, Solomon has spoke of the King's mind... mental state... and asked if Gizette feels as he does, that the King might not be... himself.

"You're right," she answers. But finds herself forced to answer in a small voice. "But that doesn't mean He's wrong..." she finishes by biting her lip.

-- LeslieLightfoot - 12 Jun 2007

Leaning back against the ship's railing, Solomon stares thoughtfully at his feet for a moment, then straightens up and pats Gizette on the back, "Don't worry, we'll get him fixed up in no time. But it's no use worrying about it this instant -- nothing will happen overnight and we'll both think better on a good night's sleep. Get some rest and tommorrow we'll figure out what to do".

-- KeithAmling - 16 Jun 2007

Gizette tips her head to one side as she looks back at the Captain. "Ooohhh, Solomon," she says in a sad voice. "A great deal has to happen tonight. There are people... and others I have to try to talk to. And maybe... a really hard apology I have to make."

-- LeslieLightfoot - 16 Jun 2007

"You're right Gizette, putting this off will make it no easier." Solomon shows Gizette to a reasonably well-furnished guest cabin. With a sad look in his eye he says, "I guess I have my own hard call to make" and wanders off to his own cabin, uneasily fingering his trump of Caine.

-- KeithAmling - 18 Jun 2007

It would be useful to note that Solomon's shadow is very fast time (something that I didn't know and came up in conversation with Keith)

-- BenBernard - 18 Jun 2007

(OOC - I knew it was a fast shadow and Gizette might figure it out by being there. But she's feeling really antsy and under pressure.)

"Thank you, Solomon." Gizette calls after him and lets herself into her cabin. Where she flutters, sighs, wanders around aimlessly, flops on the bed, jumps off the bed. Eventually, she can stand no more and sets her nervous feet back toward Amber and her imprisoned love.

Solomon and Caine

Father, we need to talk. You were right about Benedict being the winning side, but I worry that is not enough. It seems like all is not well with Benedict and I fear he may lash out at those around him. He displays no regard for human(?) life and in particular... he has threated to dispose of you if I do not obey him.

Whether or not I can do what he asks right now, I am sure he will not remain appeased forever -- it is not safe for you to be by his side. Come sail away with me Father. Together we can evade him in shadow. Command will be yours if you ask it; I would rather be second by your side than captain knowing you lie in danger.

-- KeithAmling - 18 Jun 2007

"Were it possible, I would second you as well, son... But it is not. I fear the King knows us better than we know ourselves, he certainly seems to be a step ahead of even me. You see, while he may have threatened my life to ensure your parole, he has threatened your life for my parole."

"I know you wish to fight him in this, your actions with Julian have proven that more than any mere utterance of words, but I cannot help you, I cannot be the cause of your death. Don't ask me to put your life in danger. Were we to run off together, the only possible result is a hunt, called by Benedict's insatiable desire for death or loyalty, and while I am confident in my skills, and in yours, I would be loathe to put them to Benedict's test."

"No, I think it is better that we bide our time. We must be ready to make the most of any mistake the King makes, but I cannot act now."

Gizette and Durus

Ben - don't know if you've been tracking the conversation in the dungeon, but we could use your input as Bleys over in the DurusAndGizette thread. Thanks!

-- ChrisLightfoot- 18 Jun 2007

Ben - heads up! We've gone from talking to Bleys to visiting Julian - if he's available. smile

-- ChrisLightfoot - 19 Jun 2007

and responded smile

-- BenBernard - 20 Jun 2007

Hey Ben, we are frisking Fiona over in the DurusAndGizette thread...
