Rose Petal Initiates
Since Benedict has been chosen by the Unicorn to replace Oberon after his demise, the Unicorn has decided to become more involved in the workings of the kingdom so that Amber may remain in the state that Benedict chooses. Towards this end, she has bestowed the
Rose Petal power on Benedict. Benedict may choose to grace his trusted subordinates with this power as well.
The
Rose Petal power is the power used by Bleys and the Unicorn in the
first game. It is a form of High Compelling, but is limited.
Rules
The
Rose Petal power may only be used to influence someone in a direction they already tend towards. In this way, Oberon could be made more violent or womanizing, or Brand could be made more cowardly. They do not have to be acting in that manner, they must just have the capacity, so for instance, Gerard could be made to be extremely angry, but Benedict could probably not be turned into a new age free love fanatic.
Additionally, this is a very limited form of compelling, because it can only encourage (or discourage) emotions. You can not demand that someone kill their wife for instance, you can only provoke them into a towering rage.
The mechanic is that you get or create a rose intended for a specific person, encouraging or discouraging a specific emotion. You must then plant the Rose on that person. That person will ignore the Rose once it is planted on them, but not before. Once the Rose is removed, the effect ends immediately
