Sekhmet
Patron of: divine retribution, vengeance, and conquest.
Appearance: a woman with the head of a lioness.
Description: Sekhmet means "The Mighty One," and she was one of the most powerful of the gods and goddesses. She was the goddess who meted out divine punishment to the enemies of the gods and of the pharaoh. In this capacity she was called the "Eye of Ra." She also accompanied the pharaoh into battle, launching fiery arrows into battle ahead of him. Sekhmet could also send plagues and disease against her enemies, but was sometimes invoked to avoid plague and cure disease.
Sekhmet's capacity for destruction is well-documented. In one story, Ra sends her to punish those mortals who have forgotten him and she ends up nearly destroying the entire human race. Only the cleverness of Ra stops her rampage before it consumes every living thing.
Worship: Worshipped as part of a triad made up of herself, her husband
Ptah and their eldest child
Nefertem, her cult center was at Memphis.

Ramses History
Grandson of Pharaoh Seti I, son of Pharoah Ramses II, Ramses would have been Pharoah Ramses III had the Angel of Death, Uriel, not claimed his life in the tenth plague of Egypt.
Death, the Beginning
Scene: The Dreaming. Six-year-old Ramses stands by the edge of the Nile, hand-in-hand with Death, who leads a procession of children along the banks. Weeping, Bast/Sekhmet pleads with Dream. Dream looks to his sister for approval, and recieves a shrug.
Dream says, "Very well. I have been without a Raven for some time. He will serve."
"For how long?" asks the Cat Goddess.
"For as long as Pharoah shall rule the Kingdoms," replies Dream.
"Forever," thinks Ramses. "I will be a slave in the Underworld forever."
Dream, the Ending
Scene:
Cleopatra lays lifeless upon her couch, asp at her breast. A
Brown-necked Raven pecks the asp, tearing out its innards. At the sense of a presence, the Raven looks up.
There is Death, come for the last Pharoah of Egypt. Ramses the Raven cocks his head. "You're not just here for Cleopatra, are you?"
Death shrugs, a familiar shrug to Ramses. The Raven looks away.
Dream stands where Death once did. Ramses the man looks back.
"The term of your service is complete," says Morpheus.
